Clocks - Coldplay

Dedicated to my pal, Barb.

She heard me singing this tune in other words.

The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead

Ran across this post and noticed original vid was kaput. Figgered this Yahoo one will last a while, nice live version and figgered someone else might want to listen to it again, hence the "bump" from 7/3/07.

I have so many mp3's of that song, different live versions, acoustic, piano only...I think I've lost count, lol, but just love it. Even have it as the ring tone on my phone.
Thanks for thinking of me Mike.

I really like this song; it's by far my fav. of the band's.

The opening riff/chords are so lovely. I've read critics who ripped it, but it's ringtone worthy for sure.

(and sorry I didn't reply to this back then, weird I didn't)

I think it's one of Coldplay's songs that has "held up" So many of the songs from that album have. Some of their latest stuff; not so much.

Made me smile to see that here today.

Did I tell you I took Colleen to her first concert this summer? Yup...Coldplay, lol.

I haven't been to a concert in yrs., the last one being Loverboy w/ my at-the-time young teen nephews, somewhere around '85, guess it would've been. Before that it was a few years before that when I went to see Cheap Trick.

There's been a concert or two since then I've been tempted to take in; one was Moody Blues about fifteen yrs. ago, sure wished I'd have made that one.

Never really cared f/ concerts, to be honest. I have a bit of a phobia, something akin to claustrophobia when I get around too many people.

I bet Coll enjoyed the concert, the sights and sounds...uh, were there "smells" too? -grin- Seriously, just curious....

Yup, there were definitely sights, sounds and "smells". Colleen is a bit out spoken when it comes to smoking and it was funny because I smelled it but hadn't pin pointed where it was wafting in from. About a heartbeat later she's tugging at my shirt and pointing to some 20 something's a few rows in front of us saying, "mummy, those guys shouldn't be smoking!"...indeed!

I don't like crowds but I love concerts...go figure. I managed to see Coldplay 3 times this last tour as well as Depeche Mode and John Mayer this past summer.

The thing that really gets me about concerts is the admission, ditto w/ sporting events. I know a lot of people set store by the "event" of it, just like going to the theater with friends, but I'd rather just buy the CD/DVD.

That's no knock at all against people who enjoy concerts or going to the picture show. I don't enjoy it because I'd probably have to go alone (poor poor pitiful me lol )and as I said, I really don't care for crowds.

Here a while back my big sis bought me a nifty AC/DC CD/DVD set and I've got some other concert discs, some elle gave me. Recently I have been coveting a ZZ Top disc set that was filmed here in Texas a few yrs. back, some vids on YT of 'em, absolutely great filmed concert performance.

I'd also like to have a Doobie Bros. vid. concert, too. They were the first group I ever saw in concert.
