Sunset in Tennessee

Image from JS Nature Photos

This is today's photo from a feed I have on my Google start page. The website, JS Nature Photo, has some stunning nature photography of Tennessee and Colorado.

I enjoy it and look forward to it each time I enter the page. The feed is seldom, if ever, "down" and loads quickly. They also provide other customized feeds and hosted scripts.

Got a lovely little email this morning; was a total surprise, guess I never thought of a webmaster doing something like this. I figured the site was far too active for them to check their weblogs, what with the Google feed that I'm SURE many others use.

On the other hand, I suppose I would also check the log to see who linked to the PotD, good way to check traffic, but particularly their interest in what the site offers.

I really loved the photo, but doubt I'd have used it unless I had found something in the site's TOU that would've let me. While searching for their policy, hoping I'd be able to do more than merely leave a link and some description that wouldn't have done the pic justice, I found the supplied code.

I put the link back to the website in it because it wasn't in the code, and when I write the man back, will ask him if he noticed. Here's his mail, hope he doesn't mind.

This is John from JS Nature Photos.

I just wanted to say "thanks" for the little review of my site you did on
your blog.

Thanks,
John

I felt a bit sheepish when I read "little". I really didn't gush over the beautiful photo as much as I'd have liked to, but one picture is worth a thousand words, huh?

I did link to his home page and I suppose I should've prob. not deeplinked to his supplied code/script page, but he didn't say anything.
