fleer

fleer [fleer]

verb (used without object)

1. to grin or laugh coarsely or mockingly.

verb (used with object)

2. to mock or deride.

noun

3. a fleering look; a jeer or gibe.

I never heard the word used in that context; in fact, when I first saw it in the Word of the Day module, I first thought of the Fleer company bubblegum Dubble Bubble.  It was always fun to fleer when someone was blowing a huge bubble with their gum and it burst on their face.

I don't use big or unknown words in talk, they feel so not right in my head or when talking. Thats a new word for Me also
