I like Hall and Oats back in the day. Saw them in concert once when they opened for Carly Simon. At the time I thought that was an odd combination but it worked out pretty well.

I posted that b/c I was listening to my fav. talk show the other day (Texas Overnight) and the host was saying the song was really about a guy gold digger. I went to the Wiki page and other sources, even reading the lyrics, but it didn't seem that way to me. The radio host used to be a DJ, so I would ordinarily defer to his knowledge base, but....

Anyway, I listened to it and a few other H&O tunes and realized I had forgotten about them. I did figure you'd like/comment on this video b/c of it being a hit in your earlier days. It came out nearly a decade after I finished h.s., but it's from one of my favorite spans of music, b/c I was roughnecking/drilling and listening to the car radio several hours/day. I always tried to find a Top 40 or classic rock station b/c I had grown sick of country from having to listen to it b/c of the driller's preferences or b/c that was all there was on the airwaves at that time in this area. By the early 80's, there were more choices on the radio around here.

Thanks f/ posting.

Nice song , took me back a bit also , I liked a lot of the 80's music, I know there was some weird stuff also back then , but every decade has some weird stuff along with the good , im very surprised also the host saying its about a guy , like you say Mike it all points towards the subject of the song being a girl. Think I will go and listen some 80's playlists for a while while we have dinner :)

Yeah, there was some weird stuff, for sure! When I think of 80's music, I immediately think of "Down Under", "Dance Hall Days", "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?", etc. I think part of the appeal of that music is b/c of MTV just starting and then a bunch of other music video programs shortly afterwards, trying to catch the wave of popularity. I do enjoy the earliest videos, if for nothing else than to reassure me they weren't "invented" in the 80's.

I haven't eaten today, but I do have some oatmeal and blueberries + banana about ready to scarf down. I sometimes forget to eat until my tummy starts thinking my throat has been cut. -grin-

Thanks f/ posting!
