One of my favourite groups , I didn't really hear much of the original group that started in the late 60's but after 1975 when Stevie Nicks joined along with the other 2 I loved their music , have a couple of Stevies cd's where she sings alone love her distinctive voice , I liked Albatross but my fave album was Rumours, thanks for the post , enjoyed it :)

One of mine, too. A FB friend had a post on her wall the other day "Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies." and I knew exactly what/who she was listening to. We had a five/six post exchange about Fleetwood Mac, I love to discuss music with people. Her post made me look f/ a FM tune I hadn't posted and the best of the lot I hadn't already done was this one.

I mentioned to her that Rumours came out when I was living in Denton, courting my g/f, soon to be wife and six yrs. later my ex-wife. I lived in the south part of town and had a brand new stereo in my pickup and would listen to one of the dozen or more FM rock stations in the area. (I wasn't used to such selection; there weren't very many FM stations in the Panhandle here at the time and even the few I could get were country. Down there they had all types, even several classical stations I enjoyed) The Dallas FM station's transmitters were north of there which meant they were only 10-15 miles from my house and the signals boomed in, much clearer than my tape deck sounded.

The dynamic of the group was interesting at the time-I believe the McVies were divorcing or were in the beginning of the end and Buckingham and Nicks were splitting apart...but their personal problems made for some great music, esp. one of my top ten favorite tunes of all-time, "Go Your Own Way". The album is definitely one of my top ten favorites, not a bad tune in the lot.

Speaking of which, I have been planning on doing a post on my top ten albums/songs, but just never have got around to it. It's a little harder than I thought, esp. when I told myself I can't put in any anthologies/greatest hits collections.

I liked Nicks, used to have dreams about her, but to be honest, I favored Christine McVie a little more.

Thanks f/ posting!

FM=Fleetwood Mac when I first mentioned it and FM later means that type of station, as opposed to AM.
