Interesting information. I used to drive Mother crazy by smelling the milk even if it was brand new and I had just opened it. Maybe I just don't have a trusting nature. I have thrown away a lot of food that was probably okay, but I just don't want to take a chance.

I set some eggs out the other day, meaning to boil some for tuna fish, but forgot them overnight. It's really cold in my kitchen, but I still fed them to the cats. I guess I waste more eggs than anything else, always forgetting I have them and even though they last longer than the "use by" date, I'm still leery of them what with all the salmonella concerns with them.

I was buying organic milk b/c of not being able to drink a half-gallon before it went sour, but I must have developed a lactose intolerance. That's annoying, because I do love a cold glass of milk a few times/week. I also started getting allergies big-time, sometimes sneezing for several minutes in the morning and suffering from the sniffles for most of the day.

I can at times drink milk, soy milk, eat stuff. then at times not. I like milk or creamer in My coffee.

I used to put milk and sugar in my coffee, Carol, but that was to lessen the acid in it which sometimes gave me heartburn. Since starting to drink better types of coffee and using a French press, I seldom get indigestion from it. I've been drinking tea instead of coffee this winter, though.
